I'm excited to share that I am the lead author of a research study recently published in the Journal of Interpersonal Violence.
The study, Correlates of Head Injury and Strangulation Among Patients Presenting for Forensic Medical Assessment at an Urban Emergency Department Following Interpersonal Violence, examined findings from forensic medical examinations
conducted by forensic nurse examiners. Our research explored factors associated with head injury and strangulation, including how the timing of an examination may influence the visibility and documentation of injuries.
This project was a rewarding opportunity to contribute to an important area of forensic and violence-related healthcare research. I was fortunate to work alongside my co-researchers, Dr. Julia Daugherty and Preet Kang, whose expertise, insight, and collaboration made the project both enjoyable and meaningful. Despite being separated by continents, we managed to reconnect regularly and finally bring this long-standing project to publication.
